GreenICT foundation is an independent non-profit organization active in the crossover field of ICT and sustainability. Our focus is sustainable ICT. By so-called "embedded" ICT the scope extends far. Altough not always visible, ICT is present virtually everywhere. Its scope extends to all levels of society. GreenICT Foundation dedicates itself to the "sustainabilization" of ICT technology.

The importance of sustainable ICT can not be identified sufficiently. GreenICT Foundation is committed to a sustainable ICT technology. The Foundation initiates and contributes to ICT (related) scientific research and other R & D activities.

As in scientific evironments English is used principally, the name "GreenICT Foundation" will also be used besides the name "Stichting GreenICT". The full name is "Stichting ter bevordering van duurzaamheid in de informatie- en communicatietechnologie GreenICT" or in English "Foundation for promotion of sustainability in the information- and communication technology GreenICT".
